It’s been a while

Hi.

So.

It’s been a while. And this is not a writing update. Kind of.

Firstly, I have officially (finally) been awarded a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (with High Commendation!!!)

Secondly, I haven’t really written much since. So, that’s been depressing. Kind of. Because in the interim I’ve found a new hobby, 5k+ road races!

My running time is not where I want it to be but 2026 is a new year.

Third, well, I’ve returned to a new/old hobby that I’ve had since I was a child, making art. I used to draw all the time before I took up writing (narrating character backstories while drawing them, mind) and now I want to improve my drawing and painting skills. Maybe I can do that in 2026.

Lastly, I haven’t been reading much and it breaks my heart almost as much as the writing. But I’m trying audiobooks and so far managed Gideon the Ninth, Jurassic Park and now I’m working my way through Dan Simmons’ Hyperion. I haven’t quite managed to listen to while running because I prefer music but maybe it will help me improve my time? Maybe.

Once again, as the year nears its end, I have wild ambitions for what I want to do next year. Hopefully complete and get these novellas published. Maybe run a marathon (or two?) There’s this idle and perhaps ill-advised idea of posting about my hobbies more. May 2026 be good to us all, and better for humanity as a species. All we got here is each other.
